Governor and Council of Safety records, 1776-1785.

Lists of officers, correspondence, resolves, orders, petitions to and minutes of meetings of the Governor and the Council of Safety in Connecticut during the Revolution. The Governor at the time was Jonathan Trumbull. Among the more interesting documents are several letters to the Governor from refugees from Long Island seeking asylum, a memorial to Trumbull opposing a hospital for prisoners in Norwich, and an order and other documents related to selling confiscated Tory estates.
